Nury, the owner of My Language Workshop, was born and raised in Colombia, and relocated to Santa Barbara in 2010. Her academic background is in languages. She has 30+ years’ experience in English and Spanish instruction within the academia and multicultural scenarios.
In Santa Barbara, she continued to be an educator of English and Spanish, and more recently worked for an international company as a translator and language leader where she gained experience in general facilitation, global onboarding, leadership development, talent management, translation and interpretation.
Special Mention (2002-2008)
Nury Lara acted as the personal translator for the President of Colombia and the First Lady et al., at fundraising and international events.
Nury has an Infectious enthusiasm for helping people build their confidence, enhance their self-esteem and boost their authentic self. Outside of work, she loves her daily walks with her husband, dancing, yoga, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
